During the US Army Ranger Course, the Ranger proves that he can overcome seemingly insurmountable mental and physical challenges. The current approach to the most demanding training program in the US Army Infantry School began January 1952 At Fort Benning ,Georgia when the First modern Ranger Course began. He has demonstrated under extreme simulated combat conditions that he has acquired the professional skills and techniques necessary to plan, organize coordinate and conduct small unit operations; small unit day and night operations low altitude mountaineering, and infiltration as well as infiltration via land air and sea. As a result of of proving he can successfully accomplish these tasks during the Ranger Course he is authorized to wear the Ranger Tab..
From The 1670 King Phillip Indian war up and through the American Revolution, The little remembered Union Army Rangers during the Civil war, World War Two; all the way to present day Grenada Panama, Desert Storm , The Mog and Iraq; this Tab, worn by graduates of the US Army Ranger Course still indicates that for the past 300 years
you're the deadliest , longest running, highest caliber of direct action U.S combat Infantryman the US Army can throw at its enemies, and know as only a RANGER can, that Rangers clearly "Lead the way".
