"In the beginning of a change, the patriot is a brave and scarce man, hated and scorned. When the cause succeeds, however, the timid join him...for then it costs nothing to be a patriot."
-Mark Twain
Who Were the Minutemen of 1775? ...And who are they now in 2005?
Now, like then, they continue to be the same brave, hated and scarce men Samuel Clemmens wrote about. From Florida and the gulf states, across Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, California, North Dakota and Chicago... These are brave proud sons, and daughters of freedom who for defending the U.S international borders have been complimented by their enemies ( from within and outside our borders) with $15,000 bounties per-head/ per man(or woman) and that truly special allocade fromk their President of being "vigilantes".
Vigilantes? Dare say not!
But " VIGILANT" individuals, who, fed up with the Bravo Sierra double speak rhetoric U.S polioticians and bureacrats feed the U.S. citizen about border security during this very different kind of war, they have lay it all on the line to Observe watch and hold the last line in the sand that protects us from the "those thems", the "anyones" whose have utter disregard for the immigration laws of the United States and who may have even deadlier harm in mind for this, the greatest republic on earth.
Like those Minutemen of 1775 today's proud sons of freedom, who at great hate and oppositions to their personal safety, man and watch the border armed with little more than a canteen of water, sunscreen, binoculars, their personal defensive side-arms and a quiet endorsement of the plight of U.S. law enforcements Border Patrol Agents. These Volunteers daily stand the line in the sand against every one from Mexican military, to smugglers, to foreign agents, to terrorist tangos... To some law enforcement bureaucrats, who believe the Minutemen are just a hornets nest.
Hornest Nest? Indeed!
Todays Minutemen embody NO SURRENDER at its bare boned philosophy as their forefathers did in 1775 and they are representative of the character embodied in all U. S. patriots - who will always be the last line of defense in a world and country gone mad with appeasment!
Our hats are off to them - with hearty Hoo-ahs for their patriotism and ability to stir up that hornest nest.
