The original Army Parachutist Badge was designed in 1941 by Lieutenant General (then Major) William P. Yarborough (died 2005) and approved by the Department of the Army in March of that year. The Parachutist Badge replaced the Parachutist Patch which had previously worn as a large patch on the right side of a Paratrooper's garrison cap.
We have livened the concept with our red beret'd death-head and the Airborne Cry "Death From Above" Happy landings.
I am not Special Forces... I do however recognize the pride of our soldiers that earned that right. I ordered the Special Forces shirt as a representation of the pride that I have for all that served in under this insignia! I thank you for the honor of letting me represent this insignia.
