SERE - Surival Escape Resistance Evasion -- If you don't know thats what the acronym means before you attend this school chances are it will beat you. Perhaps the Toughest training SF troopers; Rangers, Delta, Air Force PJ's and STS ; Marine Recon and Navy SEALs will atend. A student learns the skill to survive and evade capture; or if captured, to resist interrogation/ exploitation and plan their escape. Graduating SERE is never easy and legend has it that only one student ever beat and out foxed the Army Special Forces SERE Instructor Cadre. The rest of us do our dammdest, just to return from SERE with honor. Many others fair almost as well. They do so by returning with honor.
Our one color graphic depicts a blind-folded; yet one eye opened Death Head symbolic of the never give in attitude a student must have to survive. Crossed Tommahawks and a Randall survival knife behind him are indicators of the mimimalist tools you use to survive. The POW guard tower; water and forrest trees are symbolic of the environs students are processed through. Concertina wire with the "Return with Honor" is the statement of those few who at the end of SERE know what dignity is all about. Wear it with the honor you deserve.
Just a note to say thank you for all the work and I cannot wait to see the finished product. The anticipation around the fire house is funny since guys never really get into much. There is a lot of pride it this shirt for them and it is showing around the station. Thanks again!
