This butane gas lighter is windproof and is ideal for outdoor sports activities. The windproof feature makes the flame highly wind resistant when used outdoors. The lighter has an O-ring seal that provides water resistance when the cap is closed. The lighter is equipped with a fuel level sight window to allow ease of determining fuel level.
By adding a tough elastomer armor, Windmill's Delta Shockproof Series has all the stormproof qualities you expect plus incredible impact resistance.
The Delta Shockproof series features a stainless steel wire closre to stay watertight even if dropped
Convenient fuel window incorporated into every Windmill design that makes it easy to tell at a glance how much fuel remains in the lighter - oversized for easy visibility.

Filling the lighter with fuel
Place filler tip of gas container onto the inlet valve. Press the filler tip of the fuel container onto the inlet valve firmly for a few seconds. This allows fuel to pass from the fuel container into the lighter. (Check fuel level by looking through the fuel level window when filling lighter.
Ignition
Open the cap of the lighter by pressing on the cap release button and push down on the ignition lever firmly with your thumb. Fuel is not supplied to the burner when the cap is opened. Ignition will only occur when the ignition lever is depressed. This allows fuel and air to the burner and causes the electronic igniter to spark, lighting the fuel/air mixture in the burner. The burner will produce a hissing noise when operating. This noise is completely normal.
Do not touch or tamper with the burner nozzle or coiled ignition wire inside the burner. Do not depress the ignition lever for an extended period of time. Doing so may cause the burner to overheat. Care should be taken not to touch the burner as it may be hot.
Extinguishing the burner
Remove thumb from ignition lever. This stops the fuel flow which results in the flame being extinguished. Close cap by pressing shut until cap clicks into the closed position.
Flame level adjustment
This lighter features a burner that produces a nearly invisible highly efficient flame. An orange glow is produced inside the burner while also producing a light blue flame that extends from the burner nozzle.
To adjust the flame level of the burner, use a small blade screwdriver or your thumbnail. To turn the flame adjusting ring surrounding the inlet valve (notice the slot for the screwdriver)
Turn the adjusting ring towards the (+) mark to increase the flame or towards the (-) to reduce the flame. When the lighter is used at colder temperatures or at the higher or lower altitudes than the normal place of use, the ignition conditions may be affect. This is caused by pressure changes in the fuel supply. The flame may need to be adjusted to accommodate the changes in altitude or temperature.
Please Note: This lighter is shipped with the flame adjustment ring turn to the lowest setting. The lighter may not light in this position. Please adjust the level towards the (+) mark to begin proper operation.
Please Note: When the lighter has just been filled with fuel and the flame adjustment is set to the highest flame setting, the flame may not extinguish immediately when the ignition lever is released. This is caused by extra fuel entering the burner. When this occurs simply turn the flame adjusting ring towards the (-) mark. As the lighter is used, the pressure in the fuel tank reduces and the flame level may have to be adjusted to the desired flame height.
This lighter is shipped to you without fuel.
US FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) regulations prohibit shipping butane fuel via commercial airlines. You may hand carry a butane lighter on board an airplane in the pressurized cabin. However, FAA regulations prohibit butane lighters containing fuel from being shipped in personal checked baggage. You may pack your butane lighter in your checked luggage provided that the fuel has been removed from the lighter before being checked in the baggage. Butane fuel containers are also prohibited. Fuel may need to be purchased at arrival destination.
