The Need:
Troops need a heavy belt to hang their holsters and pouches on without bowing and sagging. Some want a belt that is flexible and comfortable and others want them rigid to support the weight of a sidearm.
The Answer:
We have created a new line with a wide variety of belt styles to fit everyone's needs. And for those we overlooked, we will custom build to suit their specs. The belts are constructed of Type 13 webbing, MS22040 forged steel buckles, and sewn with parachute thread. This belt is comprised of double layers of webbing. It's our sturdiest belt.
THE STORY BEHIND THE V-RING: The rigger's belt has become popular as an emergency rappel seat because of the forged steel V-ring built into the belt. While the belt is strong enough to support a man's weight, we want to point out that this is not the use we intend it for. The ring can be useful when a sniper lying on a slippery rooftop or a troop on a chopper skid ride needs a point to clip into a safety line. And when hooking into an approved climbing/rappelling harness, it will not hurt to pass the carabiner through the V-ring for that extra ounce of security. But for those who want to use this belt as a rappelling seat, please realize that while the belt around your waste is stregth rated, there are no leg straps and the only thing holding the belt to your waste are your belt loops (and we have yet to see a pair of pants that come with strength ratings). If the belt does not separate and end up in your armpits, you will at least have the wedgie of a lifetime.
