 From the gang at Special Forces Gear! I was deployed to Germany in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. As a Military Policeman I had contacts all over. One such contact was a A.F. Security Forces Airman. He was in theater and was requesting....toys of all things. He and his crew were trading the toys to local kids for weapons or munitions. During my deployment I was able to raise over 200 pounds of toys over aperiod of five months. I know its not the best war story, but I had to do my part in keeping my brothers and sisters safe. The Armed Forces Network ran the story for a couple of weeks on the radio and T.V. It was very productive for the guys down range and was a great way for us not in theater to help down range. |
