From the gang at Special Forces Gear!
On 10 April 1999, Patrol Squadron Ten, Combat Aircrew Six, made history while conducting combat air operations over Kosovo. The first ever engagements of enemy land targets with precision standoff weaponry launched and controlled from a Navy P-3 Orion aircraft in wartime during Operation Allied force. The mission was flown in a hostile environment in weather so severe that other strike missions were canceled. I saw my Commanding officer after the first shot and he asked me if we should continue. I replied that there were three more missiles to launch "lets rock". The best part about launching SLAM missiles is that we can watch where they land, the best hit was the control tower at the airport.
