-Volunteer SAR Specialst...

The battle, sir, is not to the strong alone; it is to the vigilant, the active, the brave...

—Patrick Henry—

Be convinced that to be happy means to be free and that to be free means to be brave. Therefore do not take lightly the perils of war.

—Thucydides—

Diplomats are just as essential in starting a war as soldiers are in finishing it.

—Will Rogers—

"In the beginning of a change, the patriot is a brave and scarce man, hated and scorned. When the cause succeeds, however, the timid join him...for then it costs nothing to be a patriot." - Mark Twain Who were the patriots of 1775? ... Or 2005?

Like then, they now continue to be the same brave, hated and scarce men Samuel Clemmens wrote about.

In the Swamps and streets of rained out New ORleanss keeping looters at bay and giving shelter to the victems of the storm.

If you are fighting in a really dark house, or in the dark of night, close one eye when firing to preserve night vision in that eye during the muzzle flash of firing.

If the mind does not admit the chance of failure, the well trained body obeys.

Remember: the noise and flash of a shotgun will be much more noticeable inside than when used outside.

Survival Water Purifier

We Serve to Help You SURVIVE!

All Hands! Time to Cowboy Up here back home! 'Cause her name is Katrina and she sure cuts a hellish path!

DoD, National Guard, Urban and rural Citizen SAR Teams, LE agencies: Yours and Our collective and valued special survival skills are needed in the devastation that has wrecked New Orleans and The Mississippi gulf coast.

We hope that as the month of September opens, it is better than how Katrina's devastation left us in the last week of August. In what my be the worst disaster to hit the United States in modern time - the time is now to lend a hand, dollar, support and knowledge!

The name "Katrina" will not find her way into many U.S. love songs in the near future.

It is a shame to all those great and noble southerners who have defended this nation, and whose Sons and Daughters are right now "walkin' the walk" on the front line may have family devastation back home which makes Fallujah seem like a picnic!

So to all you Urgent First Responders!

Because many of you First Responders and Search and Rescue Teams use SFG equipment and supplies. Please review our survival supplies: Rope, Rappelling harnesses, First Aid and other items found in our store for your needs to reach the disaster zone. We will accommodate you ASAP. Understand our prices are what they were before Katrina was even named., and will stay that way.

This link will assist you and lead you to the latest updates between DHS and FEMA rescue efforts - http://www.fema.gov/usr/

Also... Articles below cover the definitive update on the tragedy of Operation Redwing which many soldiers and Navy SEALs lost their lives (in the future look for a shirt between SFG and the United Warrior foundation in a team effort for SFG to make a contribution to the families of the operators lost)...

Additional articles: not to showboat frogmen - follow a few more SEALs whom SECDEF just recently.. and more importantly "quietly", acknowledged their efforts at a ceremony in Coronado.

Another article covers the ethos behind the MUST SEE Hollywood movie of the summer (perhaps of all time), for all Rangers and SF tab holders: THE GREAT RAID.

Again, please help support those in the field with all the emotional support that is possible. While at home find a Red Cross, or other sanctioned charity and help those who cannot... It's gonna take a unique breed of "Special Forces" with the best gear to help our water logged countrymen, and YOU and WE together, are the right characters to pull it all off!

Let's everyone roll and convince our unit superiors, or department heads to activate a - Prudent use - of our CONUS resources and use them now when our countrymen need them most!

This is a "No Surrender to Mother Nature" (and the Enemy) wherever they may be! And as U.S. Citizens and Soldiers, if we can give it to the bad guys in combat... or South East Asians during the Tsunami... We can give that same well coordinated effort back to ourselves!

Our hearts go out to all of those CONUS and OCONUS operators and operatives in nature made or our enemies made, harms way..

God Bless them and you all!

Hoo-ah(!) as always,
Dave

Duty, Honor, Country

Those three hallowed words reverently dictate what you ought to be, what you can be, what you will be. They are your rallying point to build courage when courage seems to fail, to regain faith when there seems to be little cause for faith, to create hope when hope becomes forlorn.

The unbelievers will say they are but words, but a slogan, but a flamboyant phrase. Every pedant, every demagogue, every cynic, every hypocrite, every troublemaker, and, I am sorry to say, some others of an entirely different character, will try to downgrade them even to the extent of mockery and ridicule.

But these are some of the things they do. They build your basic character. They mold you for your future roles as the custodians of the Nation's defense. They make you strong enough to know when you are weak, and brave enough to face yourself when you are afraid.

U.S. Blood Is Not Buying a Free Iraq

Building Islamo-Fascism?
No Right to Keep and Bear Arms in a new Iraq?
Iraqi Blueprint for Tyranny?
U.S. Blood Is Not Buying a Free Iraq

Members of the Bush administration have repeatedly told Americans that Iraq is becoming a free and democratic society, but that claim is proving to be false.

Aug 16th 2005 is National Airborne Day

We at Special Forces Gear have been members of many, many fine military outfits. Yet we are most proud to have been Airborne qualed and to have served with them. It is amazing to throw yourself out of a perfectly good airplane (all jokes about military aircraft aside)... time and time again (and to still be here to talk about it!) Be "we" Air Force, Army, Marine Corps or Coast Guard... "Airborne" insertion is a divine operational euphoria; noble and gallant and will always be special is force to all of US in the US Military ... including our Commander in Chief:

Navy SEALs Thanked for Anti-Terror Work

NAVAL AMPHIBIOUS BASE, Calif. - The trainees had been awake for days, but they could still muster a "Hoo-yah, Secretary Rumsfeld!" as the visiting defense chief looked them over.

They were 60 "buds" — hopefuls to join the elite ranks of the Navy SEAL teams. Dozens had already given up, ringing a bell and calling it quits. For them, Tuesday was the middle of "hell week" — where they are kept awake, training, for 5 1/2 days. The lucky ones may get a cumulative four hours of sleep during that time.
